Oh Captain, My Captain...

David is off fishing in Alaska from June 15-July 15. So just thought I'd give you a little glimpse of what he might be doing...
He washes his own underwear!!!

And he does some stuff on boats.

Gender and things.

We think this picture says it all. We hope to teach him some modesty.

A Better Time

(From left to right: Moira, Nadia, Aunty Nora, Uncle Jerry, Jerry Jr.--with the crazy hair)

This picture was taken at Nadia's 24th birthday. I think this was the first time that David met the Rai family, I've known them since I was in 8th grade. That's almost 16 years now. They've seen all my awkward phases--there have been many. They have been like a second family to me, and now I am deeply saddened by the loss of their Dad. Uncle Jerry fought cancer on and off for 7 years. I've watched you over the years Uncle Jerry--your example as a parent and a spouse is incredibly admirable. You will be greatly missed. I hope to see you all together one day.

Graduation Weekend

Nilmini and Taylor visited us last weekend--next time you guys need to visit us for a month!! Anyways, we had a blast celebrating Fletcher and Shaun Wilkens' graduation. The Wilken's family had a picnic for the graduates on Sabbath--David and Taylor mostly took pictures of bugs, Nilmini played some kickball, and I just ate a lot! Here are just a few pics from the picnic and graduation.

More Projects...

Another project day. We have been renovating the basement apartment downstairs. By "we" I mean, David and Co.-- Kerry Straub, Robb, Jess, and of course Ezekiel were all very helpful. Neighbor Steve has worked some crazy magic downstairs as well (note the awesome flooring).

Projects, Projects, Projects!

It's project season (!!), and we're finding that the little bursts of sunshine help us get some things done! David worked with neighbor Steve to cut down a few trees (always sad), to clear up some land for more gardening. We'll plant our little corn, crookneck squash, zucchini, and pumpkin plants along the edge of our fence. Steve, Keiri, and their kids are awesome neighbors and we love how gung-ho they get about projects also!

Portland Weekend

We spent a relaxing Memorial Day weekend in Portland. Noelle had a girl's weekend planned, so we spent most of our time having a boy's weekend with Nelita. We went on a bike ride, ate great food and enjoyed our time with the little ones. Kalon and Grady absolutely love Sammy, they are getting pretty good at teaching him to "sit" and "stay!" Grady even decided to give him a big kiss on the nose!

This week marks week 16 for Baby 'tato (that's our nickname for now). Baby is the size of an avocado this week (note the visual aid).
